Are you and your family looking to get out of the house for a little while this weekend? Are you trying to take the kids somewhere they haven’t been before? We have compiled some ideas that are fun for the entire family!
Explore the Outdoors at Cascade Township Park!
Just a short drive from Ada, Cascade Township Park is a whopping 55 acres that give the kids an ample space to run around and spend some time running off steam and energy. It’s just starting to blossom into spring, and the kids are probably itching to spend a little time outside.
Take the Kids on an Adventure to Somewhere in Our Own Backyard...the Gerald R. Ford Airport!
One of the hidden gems here is that there is an Airport Viewing Park. If you tune into 1650 AM as well, you can hear all of the conversations between air traffic controllers, pilots, and staff as the planes take off and land. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk, and FREE!
Head Over to the Place Where Learning Never Stops: the Library!
With many libraries around the area that are close and unique in their own ways, the kids are absolutely going to be amused. Each branch has a children’s area that is decorated differently and fun, filled with unending shelves of books, interactive games, puzzles, play and dress-up stations, and so much more. Along with offering story time for the kids throughout the day, these libraries are begging for you to come spend time on the weekend.
Let the Kids Run Free at the R-Athletics Open Gym!
Every Saturday, R-Athletics has an open gym from 1pm-2pm. With coaches there for supervision, there is an area for the little kids and an area for the big kids. Each child can find something fun to do, with the permission and signed waiver of a parent.
Spend Some Time at The Mud Room
Whether it be painting pottery, handprints, or glass fusing, let your creative juices flow at The Mud Room. A fun and exciting place for all ages, choose from a variety of crafts and be as artistic as you want. Take your creation home with you at the end of the session, as well!
