Whats the Story?
Paisley Mae, was born May 26, 2013, at just 28 weeks and 2 days gestation. She weighed in at 2 lbs 8 oz and was 14.5 inches long. She spent 6.5 weeks in the NICU at Mercy Health Saint Mary's Hospital growing bigger and stronger before she was able to join our family at home! While in the NICU, it dawned on me how simple things, like seeing her wrapped in cute baby blankets, really made it feel less like a hospital, and more like her nursery. Paisley's amazing nurses always made a point to pick out the cutest combination of blankets that they could find to cover her "bed" and to swaddle her with. Eventually, even I got to raid the blanket closet to pick out her linens. Which is when I noticed they could use some more fun, bright, and more gender specific blankets.
What do you Need To Know?
This is an untimed event. The course will be marked so you know where to turn (this will be pretty simple). And participants must obey all traffic rules when crossing streets as we will not be closing roads. You do not have to do the entire 2.8 miles (chosen for Paisley's birthweight). Walkers, runners, strollers, dogs, wagons are all welcome:) Feel free to go out for your own run or walk and if you want to mail a blanket or monetary donation for me to go buy blankets.
Thanks everyone and hope to see you on August 12th!!
